May 3rd, 2024: Geno3D updated (see NEWS).
The aim of Geno3D server is to make accessible to all biochemists and biologists an automatic protein modelling Web server to generate protein 3-D models.
The strategy used in Geno3D is comparative protein structure modelling by restraints (distances and dihedral angles) satisfaction. The restraints being derived from the template.
The restraints are derived from the template thanks to the query-template pairwise alignment. In gap regions, statistical restraint are used. These restraints are used as input for CNS software.
Geno3D's output are 3-D models that satisfy these restraints as well as possible.
Warning: Geno3D result is only a model and must be considered carefully, it is not an experimental 3-D structure.
Geno3D has been made available on Monday, March 5th 2001 for release 1, and on Thursday, February 14th 2002 for release 2.

Geno3D's limitations:
Geno3D server release 2 generates models with at most 1,000 amino acid. For larger or oligomeric model, you can contact us.
